Search for our next Lead Volunteer

To all members, Chorley District Scouts,

Lead Volunteer for Chorley District…

Amy Calderbank will complete her year term as District Lead Volunteer at the end of January 2026.  Amy has done an outstanding job as District Lead Volunteer through that time, building back after the pandemic, particularly in the growth of the Squirrels section.  I am sure you will want to join me in thanking her for her service.

It is now time to look to the future, to identify a new District Lead Volunteer for Chorley District, who will build on the District’s many strengths and continue the excellent work already ongoing. To that end, I have asked Pete Sturgess, supported by Alan Venn to chair a small search group to advise me on my appointment.

We are now inviting nominations and applications for Amy’s successor from across the District and further afield.  I’d encourage you to fully engage in this process by making nominations to support the work of the search group.

With this email we’ve attached the role pack which outlines details about the role and skills required. Parts of the role can be delegated to the leadership team and a full induction programme, training and support, including allocation of a mentor, is offered to all District Lead Volunteers.

We are looking for someone with the passion, drive and people skills to support volunteers across Chorley and help drive the District forward. As members of the District, you are best-placed to identify potential candidates for the role. As such, we encourage all members to make nominations, and welcome self nominations. These can be made using this simple form below

The deadline for nominations is Wednesday  10th December at 5pm.

Should you wish to have an informal discussion about the role, do not hesitate to contact me.

Best Wishes,

Andrew
